About the Artist

Melessa was born in Georgetown, Guyana and grew up in Tampa, FL. She has always had a passion for everything artistic whether it be drawing, painting, or crocheting. During her early years in school, she would take many art classes and electives and would eventually earn the art award for her work in advanced placement art. Before beginning her career as an attorney, Melessa dabbled with art classes in college. These classes were as challenging as they were insightful. When she decided to pursue her career in law, she let her love of art hibernate deep within her heart. Eventually, her love for art was too strong to ignore, Melessa decided to pick up her paint brush again and she hasn’t put it down. Melessa uses her colorful and illustrative style to capture a whimsical snapshot into one of the most special days of people’s lives.
